Behavioural Consultations

Sometimes our pets need additional support not only accessing the vets, but for behavioural support such as being left alone (also known as separation anxiety), resource guarding or aggression levels, to noise phobias (eg fireworks).

Not only are we able at Jersey Village vets to help support anxious animals in our clinics, but discuss how we can support you and your pets with ongoing behavioural needs that are effecting both you and your pets life outside the clinic.

We provide an extended consult (45minutes) to discuss the behaviour issues, take a long history of your pet and the issue, provide a clinical examination of your pet (where possible) and provide the steps and support of moving forward- which usually involves regular phone calls by a specific member of the team.

Any behaviour, regardless if it’s a new or old behaviour, should always be confirmed that it is not a medical, or pain, problem before it can be decided it is a behavioural issue- this is why a clinical examination by a vet is required and usually a pain trial is started before long term behavioural support and plans are put in place moving forward.

If you wish to discuss any behavioural changes, please ring to book a behavioural consultation.
